They set to work with their groundbreaking vision, battling entrenched tradition and major forces along the way, daring to place the fate of their farm in the hands of nature. Ripping down the fences, they set the land back to the wild and entrust its recovery to a motley mix of animals both tame and wild. Inspector Drake's Last Case - presented by Regal Community Theatre

Wednesday 19th, Thursday 20th, Friday 21st, and Saturday 22nd June, at 7.15 p.m.

RCT’s latest production is fully underway and in rehearsal – and what a comic feast it is going to be!

A fast-moving farce with misdirection, slapstick and characters you probably shouldn’t be able to recognise, but probably do (well, just a little) …

Is Inspector Drake a quiet genius or hopelessly hapless? Is Sergeant Plod any help at all? Did Mrs Gagarin deserve to die on her patio that night?

And what of the suspects? Is Miss Duck a fashion designer or fiend? Did Mr Gagarin get on with his mother? What brought Mr Butler to the Gagarin residence that evening? And what about the cook, the gardener, and the butler? Are they the loyal retainers they claim they are?

Who is whom they seem? And who harbours a resentment so deep they will resort to murder?

Come and see Inspector Drake as he takes on household implements, dim assistants, flirtatious ladies, fruit and an obstreperous Chief Inspector... will he win through, with so much stacked against him?

‘Inspector Drake’s Last Case’, written by David Tristram, is presented by the Regal Community Theatre in the intimate setting of the Regal Studio Theatre.

Wednesday 19th, Thursday 20th, Friday 21st, and Saturday 22nd June, at 7.15 p.m.

The D-Day Darlings

Following their success on 2018’s Britain's Got Talent, The D-Day Darlings were signed to Sony Music UK and their hugely successful debut Album “I’ll Remember You”, released on 9th Nov 2018 and re-released with 4 New songs for a special VE Day celebration edition on 8th May 2020 , charted at number 5 in the official album charts, receiving a Silver Disc award for sales of over 60,000 and is currently on track to receive a Gold disc, The D-Day Darlings are The Best Selling Female group to come from Britain's Got Talent, also receiving a BRIT CERTIFIED BREAKTHROUGH AWARD.

The group was formed in 2007 by founder and lead singer, Katie Ashby, after she recognised the importance of this music and how it resonates with people like no other genre of music. Katie explains, “To see how these songs affect people and how the melody and lyrics evoke such memories was truly eye-opening for me. It was this that made me want to build a career singing these timeless songs and bring back memories for so many people.”

The Darlings, originally formed as a trio, became an overnight success and the group’s popularity grew with young and old alike, so more Darlings were signed to join to the group, creating an army of girls to continue their mission of keeping the wartime spirit alive and into the new generation.

This opened up many opportunities for the Darlings to fulfil this mission, with milestone performances on MV Boudica for D-Day 75 commemorations in Normandy, BBC Radio 2 for Armistice Day Centenary celebrations and headlining a show attended by members of the Royal Family at Union Chapel in London, along with a number of TV and Radio appearances.

Katie also joined forces with The Royal British Legion, becoming official fundraisers for the RBL, raising thousands of pounds each year and when Dame Vera Lynn gave her endorsement of the group's work, The D-Day Darlings truly became the UK’s most loved sweethearts and their popularity grew even further.

After another of Katie’s dreams became a reality when meeting Dame Vera in person, Katie commented, “Vera Lynn is my biggest inspiration and I want to continue her legacy, both musically and as a woman who contributed so much during the war. To have her blessing to do so is overwhelming and an absolute honour.”

The quest to conSnue spreading the message of Remembrance into the modern and future generations also inspired Katie to form a young troupe of musical messengers, 'The D-Day Juniors', as seen on Britain’s Got Talent 2020, a group of performers aged between 6 and 17 years which brings original wartime-inspired songs to events nationwide.

The Manfreds: Hits & More in ‘24

The Manfreds will be appearing at The Regal Theatre, Tenbury Wells, on Saturday 4th May as part of their 60th Anniversary celebrations.

They are considered one of the finest and most respected bands from the 1960’s era and their numerous hits were not just ‘pop’ songs! Many were R&B based with an undercurrent of jazz - a very unusual but winning combination of playing style and substance.

As a result, their records have a timeless quality and, some 60 years on, The Manfreds, with original front man Paul Jones, will be performing many of their hits, including ‘Do Wah Diddy Diddy’, one of the most popular and instantly recognisable songs of the ‘60’s, and still the biggest audience pleaser at their concerts, along with a mix of Jazz and Blues covers and tracks from their individual solo albums.

Paul Jones, with his unique harmonica sound, will be joined by Tom McGuinness on guitar, Pete Riley on drums, Mike Gorman on keyboards, Marcus Cliffe on bass, and Simon Currie on saxophone/ flute.

Union Gap - Back to the 60s

The "Union Gap featuring Gary Puckett" or "Gary Puckett and the Union Gap" gained worldwide recognition when their first combined release “Young Girl” hit No.1 in the UK and No.2 in the USA. Next came “Lady Willpower” which hit No.5 in the UK and No.2 in the USA. Their next release “Woman Woman” only managed No.48 in the UK but hit No.5 in the USA. There were no further successful releases in the UK and in 1971 the “Union Gap” parted company with Gary Puckett.

In 1974 “Young Girl” was re-released in the UK and although Gary Puckett was now pursuing a career in acting along with his solo music projects, the new “Union Gap” was put together to promote the record in the UK and “Young Girl" was yet again a smash hit reaching No.6 in the UK charts. Eventually the band went their separate ways – all having great success recording and performing with many major artistes. The band were approached on numerous occasions to re-kindle the magic of the “Union Gap” but due to their individual contracts it was not possible, until in 1996 Mike Ellis (Keyboards & Vocals), Gerard Rogers (Drums & Vocals) and Barry Ruther (Guitar & Vocals) were able to launch the “New Union Gap” as a tribute to Gary Puckett bringing in the very talented - Tom Harding - on Bass Guitar / Lead Vocals.

The “New Union Gap” was an instant success on the 60’s circuit playing at all the major festivals, theatres and holiday centres throughout the UK and more importantly keeping the music of Gary Puckett and the Union Gap truly alive and vastly increasing airplay of their hit singles on Radio stations throughout the UK.

In December 2000 when Barry retired, Tom took on the role of Guitarist / Lead vocals, and the band recruited Simon Paul – a young and exceptionally talented musician / vocalist to take over on bass guitar & together with Tom kept the harmonies tight.

In 2006 Simon decided to depart & live in Fuerteventura & the band immediately recruited Graham James a talented bass guitarist with again a great vocal range & a wealth of experience.

January 2007 saw another change when the band welcomed the drums & vocal talents of Ian Tandy.

In March 2008 Graham James was made an offer he couldn't refuse which saw him leave the band & in came Paul Cornwell, another veteran of the 60s circuit with a pedigree second to none thus maintaining the Union Gap professionalism, musicianship & attitude.

The band has worked extensively to put together a repertoire of classic songs from the 60s to 90s, which they perform either in the original form or in their own unique style – many of which appear on their albums “This Time Around”, “Classics” & "By Request". The band have also devoted a great deal of time and effort to perfect their concert sound, which is always complimented wherever they appear.
