Mark Steel: Every Little Thing's Gonna Be Alright

If you had tickets for the postponed April show, your tickets have been transferred to this performance and someone will be calling you soon about the change of date.

A few years ago, it seemed unlikely that the UK would vote to leave the EU; we had a reasonable opposition to the Tory Government; Donald Trump was a buffoon who surely wasn’t going to beat Hillary Clinton and Mark was living the married suburban ideal, since then it’s all gone to absolute shit! But don’t worry as Mark thinks Every Little Thing’s Gonna Be Alright.

Mark’s sell-out show Who Do I Think I Am, revealed his natural father was a world backgammon champion. Now the star of Radio 4’s Mark Steel’s in Town, and newspaper columnist of the year is touring a show which is guaranteed to make the world seem even more mental than it is.

Mark has written and presented many series of Mark Steel’s In Town on BBC Radio 4 (new series out soon) and toured it live around the UK. Mark has presented the BAFTA nominated Mark Steel Lectures for BBC2, is a regular on BBC One’s Have I Got News For You and Radio 4’s The News Quiz.  He’s also appeared on BBC2’s QI and Room 101. Mark has written several acclaimed books, including: Reasons To Be Cheerful and What’s Going On and he writes a weekly column for The Independent for which he won Columnist of the Year at the Press Awards in 2015.

Tickets are £16.50

Fairport Convention

Fairport Convention has been entertaining music lovers for over half a century. During that time the band that launched British folk-rock has seen many changes. But one thing has remained the same - Fairport’s passion for performance.

This year’s Autumn Tour concert will present a mix of long-established Fairport favourites and some surprises from albums old and new including their latest album ‘Shuffle & Go’ which was released in 2020.

Fairport Convention have won a BBC Lifetime Achievement Award and Radio 2 listeners voted their ground-breaking album Liege & Lief 'The Most Influential Folk Album of All Time'. Their story has been celebrated with television documentaries on BBC Four and Sky Arts.

The band features founding member Simon Nicol on guitar and vocals, Dave Pegg on bass guitar, Ric Sanders on violin, Chris Leslie on fiddle, mandolin and vocals, and Gerry Conway on percussion.

"Stuffing their set with a surprising amount of new material for a vintage act, Fairport are still clearly having fun and brought the house down."
The Guardian

"Fairport is an institution, a festival, purveyors of memories, and keepers of the folk flame. But most of all they are a brilliant live band."

I'm Still Standing - Elton John Tribute

A musical celebration of the legendary 50 year career of Sir Elton John. Featuring all of his greatest hits performed by the outstanding Joel Buckingham and backed by an amazing live band. No show about Elton John would be complete without the outrageous outfits and glasses which have become a signature of his live shows from the early 1970's right up to the modern day.

Elton John has sold over 366 million records and is also credited with the biggest selling single of all time. His unique blend of pop and rock styles turned him into one of the biggest icons of the 20th century. Alongside his stellar solo career he has also found time to compose scores and songs for several West End Musicals including the award winning Billy Elliot and movies such as the much acclaimed The Lion King. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of fame in 1994 and knighted in 1998.

Joel Buckingham takes on the task of recreating the Elton John live experience. Joel was born with a similar timbre to Elton John and just like his hero began piano lessons as a child. A decade on cruise ships as a professional musician saw him hone his craft and in the ensuing years he has performed worldwide as Elton John including packed houses at venues as prestigious as Alexandra Palace.

“Amazing tribute to Elton John.” Mark Ritchie - The Stage

“6000 people just had a great night!” Claire Watson - Alexandra Palace

“Joel's performance as Elton John is staggeringly close to the real thing.” The Weekly Herald

“At the end of the show the audience rose to their feet for the ovation, they didn't want it to end.” The Daily Post
